About Arabuko Sokoke Elephant Watching
Arabuko Sokoke Forest is one of Kenya's most important coastal forests and home to a rare population of elephants that are uniquely adapted to this ecosystem. Unlike the famous savannah elephants, these elephants have lived in the coastal forest environment for generations, offering a truly special wildlife experience.
The forest also hosts over 350 bird species, spotted hyenas, genets, and various reptiles. Guided forest walks provide intimate encounters with nature while supporting vital conservation efforts. The elephants here are famous for their smaller size and distinctive features, making them a fascinating subject for photography and wildlife documentary projects.
